The American Astronautical Society (AAS) congratulates Representative Jim Bridenstine (R-OK-1) on the Senate confirmation to be NASA Administrator.
“AAS looks forward to working with Administrator Bridenstine on advancing science, research, exploration, and understating in the space community,” said AAS Executive Director Jim Way. “We have a long tradition of collaborating directly with NASA and the Administrator’s office and we are excited to continue helping to communicate and discuss NASA’s mission and strategic initiatives to the AAS membership and the industry in general.”
Prior to his confirmation as the next NASA Administrator, Bridenstine served as the congressional representative for Oklahoma’s First Congressional District since 2012. During that time, he has served on the House Armed Services Committee and the Science, Space and Technology Committee. Bridenstine was also a pilot in the US Navy and US Navy Reserves, as well as the Executive Director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium.
