Joe has over 31 years of experience in the space power system area working with major NASA sites such as Johnson Space Center, Goddard Space Flight Center, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Glenn Research Center. Joe continues to work with, and support the space industry prime suppliers (Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman Integrated Systems, Boeing Space and Defense, among others). Joe also supports the implantable medical device industry providing implantable lithium ion batteries for neuromodulation, deep brain stimulation, and heart monitoring applications.
Joe is a recognized expert in lithium ion battery technologies and is currently the United States representative to the International Standards Committee on Aerospace technologies, Chair of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Aerospace Power System Committee, Board of Director member of the Colorado Space Business Roundtable, and committee member of AIAA battery standards.
Joe and his husband, Lucas Barrett Busby, moved to the Longmont area in 2010 and has been an active promotor of aerospace technology and development of aerospace business within the Longmont area.
