Congratulations to NASA’s Jim Free, Robert Cabana, and Catherine Koerner

The American Astronautical Society congratulates Jim Free for his promotion as NASA’s next Associate Administrator in the new year. We are thankful for his leadership of NASA’s Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD) and look forward to supporting him on this new venture and hearing from him in his new role.

Free is taking over for Robert Cabana who is retiring at the end of this year. AAS commends Cabana for his impact throughout his distinguished career as an astronaut and NASA leader and congratulate him on his upcoming retirement.

Congratulations also to Catherine Koerner for being named the next Associate Administrator of NASA’s ESDMD, succeeding Free in his role. We look forward to your leadership as the head of this directorate and working with you as we all advance space.
