2023 Winners for the Ordway Award for Sustained Excellence in Spaceflight History

The American Astronautical Society is pleased to announce Dr. David Livingston and Marcia Dunn as the winning recipients of the 2023 Ordway Award for Sustained Excellence in Spaceflight History! This esteemed reward recognizes exceptional, sustained efforts to inform and educate on spaceflight and its history. This year’s winners exemplify this award through their constant efforts to share the current events occurring in space.

Marcia Dunn is recognized for her long career as an aerospace journalist covering the space beat for the Associated Press and providing timely, detailed, and accurate accounts of space history as it happened. Having witnessed more than 110 human spaceflights internationally in her 43 years, Dunn has been on-site for many of space’s historical moments. Her reports of these events and her dedication to space journalism is exemplary of what the Ordway Award is about.

Dr. David Livingston is recognized for his steadfast and sustained efforts to raise public awareness of spaceflight history and current affairs as creator and host of “The Space Show” for more than two decades. “The Space Show” aims to provide timely and relevant information on space issues and policy influencing the development of outer-space commerce, space tourism, exploration, planetary science, as well as other related subjects. Dr. Livingston’s passion for sharing the latest news is apparent in his work, earning him the distinction of the Ordway Award.
