It is with profound sadness we note the passing of former Senator John Herschel Glenn, Jr., the first American to orbit our planet.

John Glenn’s bravery and commitment to service was evidenced throughout his life, from his courageous days as a naval aviator in World War II to his fearless flight into the heavens as the first American to orbit the Earth and finally to his days as a public servant and educator. As we reflect on his life and service, we cannot help but be grateful for the many contributions he’s made to the betterment of humanity and the inspiration he’s provided through it all.

Our deepest sympathies are with John Glenn’s family at this difficult time.
